In February 2026, one of the founders of the NGO PingPongParkinson Estonia, Alexander Smirnov, took part in the international table tennis competition, the Masters Games 2026, held in Abu Dhabi.

Masters Games 2026 was a large-scale sporting event featuring 35 sports disciplines and attracting more than 25,000 participants from around the world.

A special feature of the tournament was the opportunity for athletes to record interviews and share their personal stories. Alexander Smirnov used this opportunity to present the launch of a charitable project in Estonia to an international audience.

In his speech, he highlighted the important role of table tennis in supporting people with Parkinson’s disease and other cognitive disorders. According to him, regular practice helps improve coordination, maintain activity, slow down the progression of symptoms, and preserve quality of life.

The initiative of PingPongParkinson Estonia aims to raise awareness of the challenges faced by people with Parkinson’s disease and to develop accessible sports programs for those in need of support.

PingPongParkinson Estonia plans to develop charitable training sessions and sports events in Estonia to help people with cognitive disorders stay active, socialize, and receive additional support through table tennis.
